I am a Canadian stone carver and painter living in Norfolk County, Ontario.  I carve soapstone and other soft stones using traditional stone and wood carving tools. I sketch and paint on location and in studio using pen and ink on paper, and acrylics or oils on canvas or board. My inspiration comes from the nature that is all around me, in the Long Point World Biosphere Region, from my home studio located on the Long Point Causeway on the north shore of Lake Erie, Ontario.

Long Point Art Studio is located just outside of the village of Port Rowan, on Highway 59, which becomes the Long Point Causeway. It's worth planning a day trip to this area, whether your interests are art, wine, antiques, a sandy beach, or birding.

Artist Residency at Birds Canada

I'm honoured to have been chosen as Artist-in-Residence at Birds Canada for 2025!  I'll be creating drawings, paintings and stone carvings that relate to birds and bird habitats throughout the year, developing a body of artwork for a solo exhibition at Birds Canada Headquarters in January 2026.  In the meantime, you might see me sketching or painting around Long Point and Port Rowan, especially at Birds Canada properties like the lovely Long Point Bird Observatory, or the lookouts and trails at the Birds Canada Headquarters in Port Rowan, Ontario.   As my community engagement part of the residency, I am organizing six Nature Puzzles and Art Cafés at the Birds Canada Headquarters through January-March, featuring art sessions led by volunteers, and bird jigsaw puzzles to work on.  The Artists By The Bay group I joined when I first moved to Port Rowan is the core of this group.  There has been excellent response from the community.
