Soapstone and all tools will be provided.  This half-day workshop is good for those who have no previous experience using hand tools to carve stone or wood, or also for those with some experience who wish to further develop their skills.  Enjoy creating your own work of art from a piece of stone in a friendly outdoor small group setting. About Carving Instructor Artist Cindy Presant

Artist Cindy Presant has taught soapstone carving to adults and children for the past 18 years, including to the following groups/classes/venues: Grand Erie District School Board (Grade 4 Enrichment Classes), Haldimand Art Works, Cayuga (Adults and Children), Lake Erie Arts Academy, Port Dover (Adults), Artists By The Bay, Port Rowan (Adults), Long Point Art Studio, Port Rowan (Adults), K-W Gem and Mineral Club, Kitchener (Adults).

Cindy is also an accomplished painter, with a 30-year exhibition record focusing on local landscapes, wildlife, plants, and historic buildings. Her paintings and carvings, including several commissions, are in private collections across Canada, the US, the UK, and Europe.
